Terms of Use - LeadPipesCheck

What this site is

LeadPipesCheck reports utility-level lead results from EPA's SDWIS database. It is informational only. It is not a test of your water, an inspection of your service line, or medical advice.

No warranty on the figures

Every figure traces to a utility's own filing, but a 90th-percentile result across sampled homes cannot say what is in any other home's water or what any pipe is made of. Nothing here is guaranteed to match a specific home, and no result should be the sole basis for a health, purchase or plumbing decision.

Health

EPA's health goal for lead in drinking water is zero. If anyone in your home is pregnant, nursing, or a young child and you are worried about lead exposure, talk to a doctor - a blood lead test is the way to know about exposure - and test your tap through a certified lab rather than relying on a utility average.
